Faith

I have just finished reading Hebrews 11 and the prestigious "Hall of Faith". This passage mixed with this mornings sermon at my church has really shown me the importance of faith. The thing that I have always struggled with is the fact that God does not always earn faith. He does not always show himself as trustworthy. If we do not look at life in the right way we will never find true faith. It says towards the end of the chapter "All these people are known for their faith, but none of them received what God had promised." (Verse 39) Everyone in this Hall of Faith gave everything they had to God even when they couldn't see him and even when his promises were invisible. Abraham never saw a nation come from his descendants, but he trusted God to come through, and He did. Earlier in the chapter in verse six it says "Without faith, no one can please God." That's one that really hit home with me. I have always had a lack of faith. Not many answered prayers in my childhood caused me to continuously question whether God would actually come through for me, but this verse states that without faith we can not please God. Without faith we can do nothing. So if right now you are trying your best to be a good christian or a good person, but you are still questioning God's ability to pull through for you, stop your ministry, stop trying to please Him and get right with God. Take a moment and just ask Him to help you to trust Him more. It's worth it. I will be working on this myself in the next few weeks and probably the rest of my life. I know I don't have many readers yet, but for those of you that are reading this and struggling with faith, my email is always open for prayer requests or if you need someone to talk to. I want to walk through this journey with you guys. Stay in prayer. Stay in the word. Stay faithful. Love always.

Your friend,
David
